Special visitors: On Thursday June 1st , it was a great honour and privilege to welcome to our school, Mr. Butler, with some students from Our Lady’s, Templemore . They brought the Harty Cup and the Dr. Croke Cup….following the school’s outstanding success in 2017. It was wonderful to have our past pupil, Seán Ryan on that team and both Seán, his teammates and the school were warmly congratulated.
June 2nd : Confirmation Day.
This was a very special day in our parish. We were delighted to welcome Bishop Fintan Monahan on his first official visit. Congratulations to our 18 students who were confirmed in Templederry . Good wishes and blessings to them and their families.
Senior Tour Day: On June 6th, a great day was enjoyed by all on the senior tour. We visited Kilkenny.
Bicycle Safety: It was great to welcome Darragh to speak to us on cycling safety. We even learned how to mend a puncture!!
End of Year:
Fr. Teehan celebrated our end of year Mass outdoors in the beautiful sunshine..He was joined by Fr. Long and it was great to see so many attend.
After Mass the retirement of Mrs. Russell was marked by presentations on behalf of the children. There was a “cuppa” for the adults and the pupils were treated to ice cream!! A great day was had by all!
Well done to our 6th class who ( following their Confirmation ) made a very generous donation of €400 towards the purchase of liturgical vessels which will sent to Fr. Matt Ryan for use on the missions. Our thanks to Mary Ryan who helped co ordinate this.
