November promises to be an extremely busy month for our whole school community. Please check out some of the details below. Before we start we would like to wish one of our dear staff members Eddie Stapleton a speedy recovery from his recent illness. Eddie does so much to make our school as welcoming as possible for all. North Football Final
Our U13 North Football Final is due to take place on this Tuesday November 7th in Borrisoleigh @ 11am. All are welcome.
Artist in schools
This week marks the last week of Simone Schuemmelfeder in our school. Simone (parent) has worked with all the children from Juniors-6th on the area of storytelling and story writing, while developing an appreciation for our locality in a most engaging way. We thank Simone for all her selfless work with our children and wish her all the best in her other projects. This marks the 2nd time in recent years where we have received support through the Artist in Residence scheme. The last time being when we built our Willow Dome.
Coffee Morning
The school will hold a coffee morning hosted by the children from 6th class on Friday November 10th. Funds raised will be evenly split between the school and ‘The A Team’ Autism youth club run by Youth Work Ireland Tipperary (https://www.theateamnorthtipp.com/contact-us). The coffee morning will commence at 9:15 and will finish at 10:45. We would welcome any baking that people may wish to donate to us for the event and. All are welcome and students will be given the opportunity to purchase baking on the day also.
Maths In-service
Please note the school must close on Monday November 13th for a Maths in-service in Limerick.
Clothes Collection
Our next clothes collection will take place on Wednesday November 15th. A full list of what can and cannot be collected is on the noticeboard of our website at www.templederryns.ie Clothes can be dropped at the school from Monday November 13th until 10:30 am on Wednesday November 15th. Thanks as always for your support.
Trip for Science Week
The senior classes (3rd-6th) will travel to Nenagh library on Friday November 17th to see Professor Egghead. Professor Egghead (Jay Ryan) Science and engineering fun for kids, making a positive impact in communities, and having fun while doing it.
Agri Kids
Since 2015 AgriKids has visited schools, libraries, family events and communities nationwide with their Engage, Educate and Empower message. They want to make all children farm safety ambassadors. We have been lucky enough to secure a slot for our school with Agri Kids founder on November 28th.

Board of Management
Our current Board of Managements term will finish in the coming weeks. We are extremely thankful to the outgoing board: James (chairperson), Mary, Fr Michael, Maureen, Janice, Áine and Cathal for all their selfless work and commitment to our school over the last 4 years. Details of the ballots for the parents reps will be forwarded within the next week.
